Recent Projects
These are some of the projects in which Adept ATM Limited consultants have recently been involved:
- In cooperation with JCSys Limited and Peleros Aviation, designed a bespoke training course on SSR Mode S and ADS-B for a military client.
- Supported EUROCONTROL with the conduct of a Preliminary Regulatory Impact Assessment into a Harmonised European Transition Altitude (HETA).
- Designed, produced and delivered a training course on Regulatory Impact Assessment for EUROCONTROL staff.
- Supported the production of a Preliminary Impact Assessment and Regulatory Approach for the development of an SES implementing rule on aeronautical data quality in the 'downstream' part of the aeronautical data chain.
- Drafted an SES interoperability implementing rule and associated Extended Impact Assessment for the individual identification of aircraft in European airspace.
- Awarded a contract until the end of 2010 to lead a consortium of companies providing regulatory support to the activities of the EUROCONTROL Single European Sky Framework Unit.
- Supporting the development of an SES implementing rule for a central Network Management and Design Function in Europe.
- Produced a discussion paper for a national aviation authority on the development of an Air Traffic Management Surveillance Strategy.
- Produced a Preliminary Impact Assessment, and subsequent Interoperability Analysis, on measures for ensuring the individual identification of aircraft in European airspace in the medium to long term.
- Conducted an independent study on ways to extend the scope of EASA airworthiness certification to the SES verification of compliance of airborne data link equipment.
- Provided regulatory expertise and support to the development of Single European Sky draft implementing rules for Data Link Services, Aeronautical Data Integrity, Mode S Interrogator Code Allocation and Surveillance Performance and Interoperability.
- Developed Regulatory Impact Assessments for a National Aviation Authority on proposals to introduce SSR Mode S transponders into light aircraft.
- Conducted an independent study into the problems associated with the assignment and use of ICAO 24-bit Aircraft Addresses.
- Assisted with the production of material to build a Business Case for a Centralised SSR Code Assignment and Management System (CCAMS) for Europe, including a study into the impact of SSR Mode S on the future requirements for SSR codes in Europe.
- Produced guidance material for the use of Low Power SSR Transponders (LPST) on very light aircraft and sailplanes in Europe.
- Conducted an independent study into the current challenges facing the static 'ORCAM' system for assigning SSR Mode 3/A identity codes to General Air Traffic flights in Europe.
- Provided support to the 'Review of Comments' processes following formal public consultations on European regulatory standardisation material, including the drafting of comprehensive 'Summary of Responses' documents.
- Supported the drafting of guidance material for the forthcoming implementation of a Single European Sky implementing rule on Aeronautical Data and Information Quality.
- Supported 'Conformity Assessment' activities for the European Integrated Initial Flight Plan Processing System (IFPS), including drafting of the 'Technical File'.
